Hat Lady.

Image from current Kmart catalogue

I've been after a wide-brimmed floppy hat for a while. Of course, being the total scrooge that I am, I haven't bought one online, as they all seem to be around $40 and over.

I had pretty much given up, and just accepted the fact that I would never own one. Until I was walking around Kmart a few days ago, looking for a scarf for my little brother (stylish little dude!). Didn't find a scarf, but I found these suckers for only $15 each! The tag says '100% wool', and they feel quite nice - much nicer than the one I found in another store recently, which felt like a piece of felt that was covered in dry glue (remember in primary school, when you'd glue your piece of felt to something in art class, and the Clag wouldn't hold it, so it'd fall off and be stiff and itchy feeling? It was like that. Haha.)

It came in three colours: black, the colour above (which was a bit darker IRL) and a gorgeous dark red/burgundy colour.

I haven't actually bought one yet, as I couldn't decide on a colour... they were all really pretty! Will have to go back ASAP... Until then, here are some cheapies from Asos in case you're loving these hats as much as I am right now!

ASOS Colour Block Floppy Hat - currently on sale for $24.86

Wishlisting.

Back to work yesterday! I hope you all stayed safe over the break, and had a lovely long weekend and a yummy Easter, if you celebrate it.

I did 95% of my Easter shopping on Sunday - when everything was half price at Kmart and Woolworths - before we popped over to celebrate with my partners' family. I think we also spent about $15 on ourselves, which doesn't sound like much, but I think everything was pretty much under $2! Chocolate for a month, at least (well, we'll see, but I am already sick of it and I've barely started - good sign)!

As I have previously mentioned, I do not like to spend a lot of money. Saving to buy a home is constantly on my mind, so spending money on clothing and expensive foods seems frivolous and not worth it in the long run. A lot of people don't understand this and ask why I don't want to be happy. I explain that I am very happy. I can buy the things I need, and if there is something I REALLY want, it is attainable.

Having said that, however, I have a wishlist. This wishlist includes all of the things that I would love to have, but I just do not want to pay the price for. I call it my Things-I-Want-But-Will-Probably-Never-Own list. Not all of them are necessarily exorbitantly-priced, but sometimes just too high for what they are. Here is a glimpse of that list!

Swarovski Ginseng bangle in Mint.

With an RRP of around $700 in Oz, this one was not happening when it was released a few years ago. Now it is hard to find, and still priced at around $400. I'd also be wary, as I've never tried it on. Bangles are tough to buy, as my small hands and wrists are more keen to throw them off, than to display them, if I don't keep my hand splayed out - which is neither comfortable, nor a good look. I've noticed a lot of women have this problem. Bangles always need sizes, just like clothes!

Most gorgeous desk accessory ever. I'd probably use this at home, my desk at work is pretty full as it is! It's sold out at Modcloth at the moment, but usually retails for $29.99. That plus the ~$20 shipping is just too much. Maybe I can convince the boyfriend to make a similar one... I'd love to see how that would turn out!

It could end up completely overdone and look this actual picture of Cairo by graspnext (blog no longer available) or it would turn out gorgeously, like these stationery holders from muji.us. However, my bet would be on the end-result looking like this:

Yep, that looks about right.

The Givenchy skirt featured in this post of mine. So divine!

Prada Saffiano & Louis Vuitton Alma in Epi Leather.

Saffiano - not sure what kind yet, but the one above is pretty perfect. I'd probably end up with a black one though! The same for the Alma, I think. I guess if I got the Alma in black, I really should get something a bit different in the Saffiano...

I currently own zero designer goods (apart from my Prada glasses, but do they count?) so I am trying to pick at least one bag to buy this year. To reward myself for being awesome, obviously.

Well I'll leave it at that for now, save some for another time!

Kitty Shoes & My Lunch.

Last night, I dreamed about these shoes:
Charlotte Olympia Velvet Kitty Heels (Pic from Google Images)

Usually I wouldn't find this odd. I dream about shoes sometimes. No biggie. The weird thing is, I don't remember ever seeing these before. What I'm thinking has happened is that I've mixed these Marc Jacobs flats

(Pic from shoewawa.com)

with this handbag that I got off eBay a while ago:

I kept thinking how I NEEDED those cat shoes, as they'd go perfectly with my cat bag - not that I am one to match my shoes with my handbags, personally (at least not to that extent!!). Then they changed to the MJ mouse flats, then to the Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, then back to the cat heels. It was all very confusing, but when I woke up, I thought I had invented a new shoe. Apparently Charlotte Olympia thought of them long before I dreamed them up!

In other news, Instagram is now available for Android phones and I think a lot of people will be excited. I've watched people playing and posting using their iPhones for the last year, and I was a little jealous. Well now it's my turn! (Ooh, I hope the fad isn't over...)

A lot of haters complain that Instagram users think they're artists and pro photographers, just because they're adding a filter to their photos. I don't think Instagram users think that at all (well I don't!), I just think that it is a very quick and convenient way to 'pretty up' your photos. Not everybody has the time or motivation to sit on their computer and learn how to use Photoshop to change a bit of lighting or add a filter (um, that'd be me).

Well, today I posted a picture of my lunch. Yep. My caption was 'My lunch'. It was very artistic, and definitely the most heartwarming photo I've ever seen. You can judge it for yourself:

I call it 'My lunch'. This is what I take pictures of when I'm stuck in the office. Good stuff!

7 Facts About Me.

I changed my picture from the cute kitty (because it didn't belong to me, and I have no idea where it came from, so I felt guilty using it) to a picture I took on the way to Pyramid Rock 2010/2011. It was taken while we were driving. It actually came out quite well, considering how fast we were travelling!

Anyway, the very sweet Veronica from Daydream Veronica has tagged me in one of these blogger award thingies! These awards/quiz type thing remind me of those quizzes that we all used to fill out when we were 14/15 and email to our friends. Did you waste hours on these silly things? I know I did! They had all the important questions, such as:

- "who do u hav a crush on???",
- "Coke or Pepsi?" or
- "who was the last person you talked 2 on tha fone?"
The answers to these three questions are: Matthew Gray Gubler, Pepsi Max and my mum - in case you're interested ;)

The rules:

  • Thank the blogger that gave you the award and link back to their blog.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself.
  • Pass the award of to 10 other bloggers and let them know.

Here we go:

1. My eyes are different colours. One is blue, and the other is hazel.

2. I am very socially awkward! I'm working on it though.

3. I'm 22 and I don't have my drivers licence...I'm working on it! I have a gorgeous car, and I would like to be able to drive it by myself, haha!

4. My favourite thing to do is make people laugh. I love laughing, it's the best thing ever!

5. I love cows at the moment; everytime I see one, I smile. This happens often, as there are at least four different paddocks with cows on the way into town. Happiness :)

6. I hate cooking. My man does all of the cooking, and I do the cleaning. I'm happy with this, as I'm very particular about cleaning and how my living space looks.

7. I am the most indecisive person EVER. Don't ask me what we should have for dinner; you'll starve before you get an answer! ...I'm working on it! Ha.
