Joys & Sorrows of Shoes.

I am a slack blogger.

Here are some shoes I bought for $5 each from Jay Jays (and I also bought the maroon floppy hat which is 100% wool, and seemingly no different to the Kmart ones, and it was only $5. No need to feel guilty if I never wear it!) People always complain that cheap shoes never last... well mine do, because I have a billion pairs and never wear the same ones more than once a week. The only pair of shoes I've had to throw out were a $17 pair from Kmart (I think) and they were ~4 years old. The sole was just starting to come off in one spot, and they were getting a bit worn up near the toes (only on the inside!)

Remember how I keep saying I can't possibly write something without going and telling a whole story? It happened again.

HERE ARE THE SHOES:

Not the best picture, and the colours are off, but you get the idea! I need to stop buying shoes. I have nowhere to store these.

Bestie's birthday party on Friday night. Not quite sure what I'm going to wear yet, but I'm hoping to find something that will keep me a little warm at least. Might post pics if I like my outfit enough.

Okay, so what I've written up there ^^ is from Tuesday. It's now Friday, and I am freaking out! I had an outfit in mind for tonight, and tried it on last night. The shoes I wanted to wear are from Big W (heh, I should've been prepared for this) and as I tried them on last night, I noticed one was quite snug, and squashed my toes a little - and as I went to walk, I realised the other one was too big and my foot slips out!

How did I not notice this when I bought them, you ask? WELL. I tried on a different pair of size 7's, only to realise they had a scratched/flappy bit in the crappy faux-suede. Naturally, I grabbed a different pair of size 7's, but didn't think to try them on also (rookie mistake!)

Now my dilemma is: I have no heels to wear tonight! None of my other ones will go with the outfit. I have two stores in mind to go to after work, but I'm worried that I won't find anything. I always feel stumpy when I'm out wearing flats and everyone else is in heels!

It's also a little ironic that on Tuesday I was writing about having too many pairs of shoes and having nowhere to store them... ha!

I bought it from an a random person in Oz off eBay, but turns out it's one of those cheap ones from Asia (all that stuff you find when you search 'Worldwide'.) It's made really well though, and looks amazing on.

Here is the dress I am wearing tonight:

Pic totes stolen off an eBay auction... oops.

Damn the picture makes it looks ugly. It looks a million times better on, and the satin bits are sit nicely against my curves, and the big chiffon-like bit on the front hides all the sins. I am wearing it with black stockings - it's too cold for vanity at the moment! - and may or may not wear a blazer. It depends if I am drunk enough to not feel the cold before I leave home! Responsible, I know.

xx

P.S. Maybe I should just start on LiveJournal... my blogging seems to be more of a whiny journal entry!

P.P.S. It takes me forever to get ready to go out for a night for some reason, but hopefully I'll have time to curl my hair with my BaByliss wand - will post pics if all goes well!

  2. Oh teh dress would look so nice on! I hope you can share outfit pics :) I also hope you can find a great pair of heels!

the benefit of wearing a LBD is that you can wear any colour of heels with it - and if you can't match it in a clutch you could match it in a necklace or bracelet, or even nail polish! :)

Hope you have a fun night out :)

    1. I didn't find any shoes, so I had to wear nude coloured stockings and a pair of grey suede pumps. The end result was good, but not what I was after. Oh well!

Unfortunately there won't be any outfit pictures, as I was home within two hours due to a few too many shots before we even left. Classy, haha!

Didn't get a chance to curl my hair either... but those pictures will come one day :)
